My name is Aaron Zimmerman.  I grew up in Southern California as an only child.  After my parents' divorce, I was raised primarily by my father who worked in the entertainment industry as a Hollywood photo and stunt double for such notable performers as Jeff Goldblum, Jimmy Smits, and Keanu Reeves.  This, along with the fact that I grew up with virtually thousands of DVDs in my home library, inevitably led me to become a study of film and television of all periods and genres - from black-and-white classics by the geniuses of Buster Keaton and Orson Welles to the contemporary achievements of Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve.  Because of this, at a very young age, the world of the screen soon grew to be more than just a hobby or a pastime for me.

Bearing in mind that my future could land me anywhere, I made the conscious effort to familiarize myself with as many aspects of the entertainment world as possible during my academic years; this included writing and directing short films (which have been recipients of honors recognized by CINE, Paramount Studios, IMDB, and the TCL Chinese Theater), seeking an internship as an assistant publicist at Carol Marshall Public Relations (where I helped manage celebrities such as Jimmy Smits and Peter Jackson), and freelancing as an editor for various clients, with projects ranging from interviews with Sharon Stone to social media content for Lucasfilm.

In retrospect, my hope is that I will be able to give back to the medium that has always fascinated me, has always been reliable for escapism, and has undoubtedly played a massive role in shaping who I am today.  As a Magna Cum Laude graduate from California State University, Northridge, with a BA in Cinema & Television Arts and an academic minor in Marketing, I currently work as the head of branded content, executive producer, director, and editor at the global esports organization, TSM, a content producer and project manager at the software development company, Blitz, and the lead editor on the historical documentary, Won't Be Silent - all while continuing to dedicate the rest of my time to freelance editing and writing, producing, and directing independent films.
